Alterations, Tailoring, & Dry Cleaning

Our store managers are given sole discretion over each & every refund issued to customers. Before a refund is provided, we must see the article(s) of clothing in person to ascertain if the garment can be repaired or if a refund is necessary to remedy the situation based on the initially contracted work. 

Alterations Express reserves the right to make appropriate adjustments to garment(s) in lieu of a refund when deemed appropriate by a store manager. 

Refunds make take up to 7 to 14 business days to process and appear in your account. Your bank and its processing timelines can delay refunds. Please contact the Alterations Express location you visited for your alterations or dry cleaning if you have an issue with a refund.  

Retail Refunds & Returns

Sales on retail items sold in-store are final. However, exceptions may be made in certain circumstances if items have not been opened, previously used, or deemed suitable for resale. Again, our store managers are given full discretion over each retail refund issued as well.

No! Appointments are NOT required for customers except those wishing to have bridal gowns altered by our in-store bridal expert. Walk-ins are welcome for any other type of alteration project: formal dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, outerwear, etc.

Alterations Express reserves the right to work on clean garments only. Customers may be asked to pay a dry cleaning fee in order for alterations to be performed. 

We strongly discourage any customers from wearing their article(s) of clothing needing alterations or repairs into a location. Instead, please bring your garments with you and use our private, spacious dressing rooms to change into your clothing item(s). Then, allow our staff to conduct a fitting and change back into your travel outfit. 

Alterations Express reserves the right to refuse service to customers who do not have a change of clothes during their visit.

Alterations Express proudly offers a 10-day satisfaction guarantee on all alteration projects. Customers have ten days from the day of pick-up to return to our location and have their original alteration adjusted, free of charge. 

Additional charges may be required if a customer requests additional work not included in their original order or if additional alterations are required to achieve their desired fit.

We may require customers to sign a Customer Release Form for specific alteration projects. Please read our release forms in full before signing, and feel free to ask our staff questions if you have any concerns.

Yes! We strongly encourage our customers to try on their alterations before they leave our location. If your garment needs to be adjusted, we can typically accommodate any adjustment while you wait.

In accordance with Ohio & Pennsylvania administrative codes, all articles of clothing that are cleaned, pressed, glazed, washed, altered, or repaired and are not called for in 120 days may be sold to pay for the notifications and other charges or may be given away or otherwise disposed of following the notification of the owned. No notice will be given regarding the disposition of articles left longer than 180 days.

We do not allow pets in our locations. However, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Alterations Express welcomes all Service Animals. Our “No Pets” policy does not apply to Service Animals.

In a situation where it is not obvious that a dog is a service animal, our employees reserve the right to ask the following questions regarding service animals: 

  1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? 
  2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
