As a company, we’ve decided to consolidate our wedding dress alteration services under one roof at our Alterations Express – Warrendale location. But why? And what are the benefits to you, our customers? We made this decision for two BIG reasons.

#1 We can accommodate MORE brides. With all our bridal seamstresses under one roof, we can accommodate more brides without compromising service. By creating a space for our bridal seamstresses to work together, they can utilize one another to accommodate more brides than they could apart in their prior respective locations. They can also leverage each other’s knowledge to ensure we deliver for every bride and wedding dress.

#2 and provide superior service. By focusing solely on wedding dress alterations, our seamstresses can provide the best service possible for our Alterations Express brides. The Bridal Hub at Warrendale allowed our bridal seamstresses to unify under one specific goal: to provide the best bridal alteration services available throughout Pittsburgh and the greater western Pennsylvania region.

Meet the Team @ the Bridal Hub in Warrendale

With over 70 years of combined experience in bridal gown alterations, our seamstresses at the Bridal Hub in Warrendale are the best—period. And they love what they do. Which we think is a pretty important part of providing the best experience possible for our brides and their wedding dresses. We’re pretty lucky to have them, and we think you’ll be pretty lucky to work with them, too. Check out their bios.

Lynn

Lynn is our Head Bridal Seamstress and Manager of the Bridal Hub at Warrendale. She was taught and mentored by her aunt Mary, a haute couture seamstress and instructor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. First, she began working professionally as a bridal seamstress in 1970 at Carlisle’s Bridal (the first bridal salon in the United States) on East Ohio Street on Pittsburgh’s north side. After that, she worked at several other bridal salons within the Pittsburgh area.

Then, in 1992, she opened her own shop in McCandless, Pennsylvania, and operated a very successful business there until 2020. Eventually, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lynn decided to close her shop. Shortly after, we were lucky enough to have Lynn come on board as our lead bridal seamstress! She is a rare talent and works tirelessly to ensure her brides are beyond happy with their wedding dress alterations.

Joy

Joy is one of our bridal seamstresses and has been with the company for over a decade. She was mentored by her grandmother, a seamstress, and after that, mostly self-taught. After high school, she attended Clarissa’s School of Fashion Design in Pittsburgh, PA, as part of their two-year program. After graduation, she began working as a bridal seamstress at Modern Bride in Pittsburgh, PA, and was there for over 10 years. Simultaneously, she started providing wedding dress alterations out of her home.

Then, she worked as a bridal seamstress for David’s Bridal for five years. After that, she worked for two years at Lord & Taylor, then at a custom drapery company, Splendid Thread, for 12 years. Finally, in 2014, she started working for Alterations Express at our East Liberty location, and we’ve been lucky enough to have her ever since!
